How to Enable Dark Mode on Windows 11

The dark mode is not new to Windows operating system as it’s been introduced since Windows 10. In Windows 11, the feature becomes even more poolish with more and more apps and UI has been redesigned to use fluent design. In this article, we’ll show how to switch from light to dark mode and vice versa.
Enable Dark Mode on Windows 11
There are two approaches to enable dark mode on Windows 11. You can either use the theme feature to change the entire user interface to a dark mode theme or you can just change the UI color to dark mode while retaining all your accent color and wallpaper settings.
Change Theme to a Dark Mode
Windows 11 comes with a few built-in dark mode themes that you can use to activate dark mode on your PC. To do so:
- Open the Settings app on your PC or you can use “Win + I” shortcut key.
- On Settings app, from the left sidebar, select “Personalization”.
Personalization”> - On the Personalization page, select a dark mode theme from the theme list.
- Now all windows and supported apps will turn into dark mode including wallpaper, accent color, and sound settings.
Change Colors to Dark Mode
To change only Windows GUI and apps to dark mode while keeping all your wallpaper, transparency effect, accent color, and sound settings:
- Open the Settings app on your PC or you can use “Win + I” shortcut key.
- On Settings app, from the left sidebar, select “Personalization”.
Personalization”> - On the Personalization page, select Colors.
Personalization > Colors”> - On the Colors page, select “Dark” from the drop down menu next to the “Choose your mode” option.
Dark”> - Now all windows and supported apps will turn into dark mode while keeping your exising wallpaper.
Disable Dark Mode on Windows 11
You can disable dark mode on Windows 11 by either changing Windows theme or Windows colors to a light mode theme or a light color mode. To do so:
- Open the Settings app on your PC or you can use “Win + I” shortcut key.
- On Settings app, from the left sidebar, select “Personalization”.
Personalization (Dark)”> - On the Personalization page, select a light mode theme from the theme list.
- To change only Windows and apps back to light mode, select “Colors”.
Personalization > Colors (Dark)”> - On the Colors page, select “Light” from the dropdown menu next to the “Choose your mode” option.
Now it will activate light mode color or theme to your PC.
